HortEx Vietnam 2027 aims to capitalize on horticultural sectors momentum Thanks! Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports reached a record value of approximately US$8.5 billion in 2025, nearly 18% more than in 2024.

This strong momentum continued in 2026: during the first five months of the year, exports reached an estimated US$2.98 billion, representing year-on-year growth of 29.4% for the same five-month period. This export growth, together with increasingly demanding quality standards in international markets, is encouraging Vietnamese growers and exporters to invest in modern production technology, efficient cultivation methods, processing, packaging, traceability and post-harvest solutions.

Approximately 65 hectares of the newly acquired land could potentially be developed into greenhouses, increasing the company's future production capacity by an estimated 30%. HortEx Vietnam 2027 takes place from 17–19 March at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Why this matters: For operators, this is a water-management story. The useful signal is that direct substrate measurements can help cut drain loss materially without giving up yield or fruit quality, which is exactly the kind of controllable efficiency gain a facility can build on.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does substrate sensing matter in free-drain strawberry systems?

Because drain percentage tells a grower what already happened, while substrate moisture and EC data show root-zone conditions directly. That makes it easier to cut water loss without guessing.

What is the operator takeaway from this trial?

If the thresholds are understood well enough, growers can reduce drain water materially while protecting yield and fruit quality, which makes sensing an operational tool instead of a reporting tool.
